The main difference is the lack of nickel plating on the inner links, it still utilises the chrome hardened and hollow pins of the 1091 and chamfered side plates. The lack of nickel plating does have a tendency to turn to that orange rust colour if not maintained and lubed frequently. The 1071 comes with a PowerChain tool free connector and is suitable for all SRAM 10speed drivetrains.
